Cody Wilmath Named New Varsity Head Coach for Boys Basketball
Fort Smith, Arkansas - June 18, 2024: The Fort Smith Public School District and Northside High School proudly announce the hiring of Cody Wilmath as Northside’s new varsity Head Boys’ Basketball Coach and Athletic Coordinator.
Coach Wilmath has served as the assistant coach and interim head coach for the North Little Rock boys' basketball team since 2022. He previously worked as the junior high boys' head coach for the Mountain Home and Ashdown School Districts. Before his public school experience, he was an assistant basketball coach for Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas. Wilmath holds a B.S. in Sports Management from Ecclesia College and a Master’s in Education from Southern Arkansas University.
Michael Beaumont, Director of Athletics & Student Activities, stated, “We are very excited to have Coach Wilmath join the FSPS Athletics & Activities Family. Coach Wilmath has had much success as an assistant and head coach everywhere he has been. His championship experience at the 6A level made him our choice to lead Northside High School and its basketball program.”
Under his leadership, Northside High School looks forward to witnessing the continued success of its basketball program.
The media and public are invited to meet Coach Wilmath at a press conference in early July at the Northside High School Arena, 313 N 22nd St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. This event will provide an opportunity to learn more about Coach Wilmath’s plans for the program and welcome him to the Northside family.
