Low Number of FSPS Educators Cite COVID-19 as Reason for Departure
It has been reported that 215 Fort Smith Public Schools teachers resigned because of concerns related to COVID-19. Actually, “215” represents the total number of certified staff and classified staff - educators and support personnel - who resigned or retired for any reason during the entire 2019-2020 school year. The number of educators with direct student contact who indicated that their retirements or resignations were related to COVID-19 concerns is 14.
