FSPS Foundation Launches Recognition Programming
Do You Know an FSPS Employee Who Deserves Special Thanks?
Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation, Inc. Directors celebrate FSPS employees and their work to ensure student success as the group launches new recognition programming for FSPS staff.
FSPS Foundation President Dr. Ken Wallace said, "We are excited to add this recognition program to our work with the district. We will be recognizing individuals who are committed to being their personal best for FSPS students. These new and seasoned employees are strong examples of leadership, respect, kindness, and enthusiasm in their work."
The FSPS Foundation accepts quarterly nominations from all school employees, students, parents, and the community to ensure that "we give everyone an opportunity to say a heartfelt 'thanks' to employees who are making a positive impact in district schools," he said.
Here are the categories:
• District employees who have worked for the district for five years or less may be nominated for the Ignite Award. This award recognizes their energy and willingness to serve up an excellent education for students. These new employees demonstrate commitment to students, professional learning, and leadership development.
• A Capturing Kindness Award recognizes employees who are models of respect and kindness and build meaningful and productive relationships with students and colleagues.
• The Foundation's Every Day Leader Award is designed as a shout-out to great employees who make a significant, sustained impact on learning in and out of the classroom.
This recognition program is the result of work accomplished by teams of FSPS employees. Dr. Wallace continued, "One of the things we liked best about this opportunity to celebrate excellence is that these categories were designed by District employees representing many job classifications and all stages of career experience."
"The mission of the Foundation has always been to enhance the quality of education by providing additional resources that support Student Success," said Zena Featherston Marshall, FSPS Executive Director of Community and Business Partnerships. "It's a mission that compliments the district's emphasis on Collaborative teams, strong Relationships, systems, and Process development and Career Focus. We are grateful for the FSPS Foundation directors and their commitment to FSPS students and staff."
