NOTICE OF MAY 24, 2022PREFERENTIAL PRIMARY, NONPARTISAN JUDICIAL GENERAL, ANNUAL SCHOOL BOARD, FORT SMITH SPECIAL & MIDLAND SPECIAL ELECTIONS

In accordance with the requirements of Arkansas Code Annotated (6-14-109), notice is hereby given that the annual school election in the Fort Smith School District will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Absentee Voting

Available through the County Clerk’s office, Sebastian County Courthouses (Fort Smith - 35 South 6th Street or Greenwood - 11 Town Square) beginning April 8, 2022. Absentee ballot outer envelope processing will begin at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 and continue weekdays thereafter as necessary through Election Day (May 24). Opening of inner envelopes will begin May 24, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. Early voting and absentee votes will be tabulated beginning at 7:30 p.m., on May 24, 2022 at the following location: Sebastian County Elections’ Office 40 South 4th Street, Fort Smith, AR.

  • Monday, May 9 – Friday, May 13, 2022, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 14, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, May 16, 2022 – Friday, May 20, 2022, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 21, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, May 23, 2022, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

ALL Early voting closes at 5 p.m. on May 23, 2022.
