Lacey Thomas Invited to Perform on the Kelly Clarkson Show
Lacey Schaffer-Thomas, a graduate of Northside High School and current paraprofessional at Euper Lane Elementary, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show after a video of her singing at the district’s convocation went viral. Thomas’ soulful rendition of Stevie Wonder’s song “Superstition” quickly garnered attention after the keynote speaker, Jon Gordon, shared the video of her singing the song.
The buzz surrounding Thomas’ exceptional abilities reached new heights when producers from The Kelly Clarkson Show reached out. She flew to New York to sing on the show, when an hour before recording, Clarkson decided she had to sing with Thomas.
“I am beyond grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement from the community and beyond,” Thomas said. “Music has always been a passion of mine, and to have the opportunity to share that passion on such a large stage is truly the experience of a lifetime.”
The High Reliability Band consists of district administrators, staff, and teachers performing each year at the district’s back-to-school event. Lacey’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show aired on Monday, November 13, 2023. Clips of Lacey on the show can be found here.
