Cox Awards $10,000 to 3 FSPS Schools with Cox Charities Education Grants
Cox Communications announced its Arkansas employees will award $30,000 to 12 Arkansas educators through its unique employee-funded Cox Charities Education Grant program. Three FSPS educators are among those who will receive money for their grant applications.
Last September, over 40 applications were received this year through the Cox Charities website from Arkansas school administrators, teachers, teaching assistants, and media specialists (Pre-K through 12th grades). The education grants support technology and programs that promote and enhance students' academic success and educational experience.
After careful deliberation by an advisory panel of local Cox employees, the following $2,500 awards were given to three FSPS schools:\
-
Darby Middle School, “Carry On” project
-
Ramsey Middle School, “Let Us Go with Vex Go” project
-
Sunnymede Elementary School, “Outdoor Classroom” and “Bee Bots for Elementary STEM” project
Cox Communications further supports local schools, individuals, and families year-round through no-cost and low-cost programs aimed at ensuring access to the internet like the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) , and Cox Communications’ own Connect2Compete for families with students, ConnectAssist, and StraightUp Internet.
