Jeff Tomlin receives the 2018 Arkansas Association of Pupil Transportation’s President’s Star Award

Director of Transportation, Jeff Tomlin, has received the 2018 Arkansas Association of Pupil Transportation’s President’s Star Award. The award is given annually to someone who has an outstanding record of service and dedication to student transportation in Arkansas and who is an active member the organization. It is the organization’s top award, other than induction into the organization’s Hall of Fame. But, he is not ready to go there yet.

He began his career in FSPS 33 years ago as a teacher and bus driver at Ramsey and Darby. He served as an assistant principal at Kimmons and became the District’s Director of Transportation. In his tenure as director, his department has been listed as a top 100 bus fleet in School Bus Magazine; they have been recognized three times as a winner of the Arkansas Pupil Transportation Safety Award; and, twice by the Arkansas National Guard and FEMA for work in transporting relocated evacuees from Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav.
