Fort Smith Public Schools is excited to introduce the inaugural Health Sciences Academy at Darby Junior High, an innovative, hands-on academic learning program through the lens of health sciences. Only 25 6th grade students will be accepted into the new Academy and will have the opportunity to experience project-based, accelerated learning in the areas of math and science. Applications must be received by Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 4:30pm (late applications will not be accepted). A lottery system will be used if the number of applicants exceeds available placements.

Academy Requirements:

• Students must be entering the 6th grade during the 2020-2021 school year
• Students must have satisfactory attendance and behavior to be considered.
• Students must be meeting or exceeding Arkansas ACT Aspire expectations in the areas of literacy and math.
